Before placing a bulk order for adjustable school standing desks, schools should compare the proposed height range with their actual student population and test at least one sample in the classroom.

A width of approximately 600 mm can support notebooks, a textbook and normal stationery for individual classroom work. Laptop use or combined digital and paper learning may require additional width.
Excessively wide desks reduce classroom capacity and can narrow the aisles. The correct width therefore depends on both individual usability and the number of students assigned to the room.
Schools should prepare a scaled floor plan before ordering. Include desk width, chair movement, teacher circulation, doors, storage cabinets and emergency access routes.
Desktop depth affects viewing distance, writing space and equipment placement. A shallow desk can work for short handwriting activities, but it may not provide enough room for a laptop and book at the same time.
A deeper desktop gives more flexibility but occupies additional classroom floor area. It can also encourage students to place materials too far forward.

The most reliable starting point is the user’s standing elbow height. The shoulders should remain relaxed while the forearms rest near the work surface.
One fixed height cannot fit an entire school. A height-adjustable structure gives schools more flexibility when furniture is shared between grades or reused during future classroom changes.
