Keep structural bars away from the user’s knees and feet.
Place the work surface on the completed frame and check its position before fastening it.
Fix the top from underneath so the visible surface remains clean. Pre-drill holes to reduce the risk of splitting the panel.
For furniture that may be moved or assembled on site, threaded inserts and bolts are often more practical than repeatedly driving screws into the same holes.
All fasteners should remain below the surface, and no sharp screw ends should be exposed beneath the desk.
The monitor shelf should be positioned after checking the actual screen height.
When seated, the user should be able to look at the monitor without constantly tilting the head upward. A shelf that is too high can cause neck discomfort, while one that is too deep may reduce the available desktop space.
If the shelf also carries speakers, reinforce the supports and check for vibration.
Poor cable planning can make a studio desk difficult to clean and maintain.
